There has been a large landslide in the municipality of Gjerdrum on Wednesday night. Several houses have been taken over by the avalanche. At least one person has been sent to the Oslo University Hospital, which is on high alert.

The eastern police were notified of the landslide at 03:59, and at 06:20 they say that several houses have been taken.

– We have received confirmation that buildings have been seized. How many and what kinds of buildings do I have to return to, operations manager Kjetil Ringseth tells VG.

At 05.11, the Eastern Police District confirmed to VG that a major landslide had occurred at Ask in the Gjerdrum municipality in Viken, and that large resources had been called in on the site.

Several people are injured, but the police still cannot say how many there are.

– We can confirm that there are injured people who have been transported by rescue helicopter and transported to the hospital, says operations manager Kjetil Ringseth to VG shortly before 07 hours.

– A large number of people have also been evacuated, initially to the City Hall. From there, they will be shipped to hotels, says the operations manager.

Ringseth says NVE geologists are in the process of evaluating the site and whether it is safe for rescue teams to enter the area of ​​the landslide. According to the operations manager, there have been several minor landslides in the area after the police moved out.

The police are in place with great resources, and teams of volunteers, the defense and the National Guard have been called in. Civil defense is also on the way, while several rescue helicopters are on site or en route.

Police are asking people to stay away from the area.

– We work with all available crew, I cannot say more at the moment, says the duty officer at East 110 Central, Roger Andersen to VG.

At the Oslo University Hospital OUS, they have set up a reception and disaster management after the landslide.

– We work to map resources and get people into the house. OUS is on high alert. That’s our job and we can do it, he adds, and says they have sent more resources to the site.

The Main Rescue Center also sent various resources to the site, says the rescue leader on duty at the Main Rescue Center in southern Norway, Børge Galta.

– I can’t say much. We’ve sent several resources to the site, including a Rygge rescue helicopter, he tells VG.

According to the power outage map of the Elvia power company, 629 electricity customers in Gjerdrum have no power. The power went out here at 03.56, according to the company.
