Biden Accuses Trump Administration Of Undermining US Security

The accusations are especially directed at the political leaders of the Ministry of Defense and the Office of Administrative and Budgetary Affairs.

– In some agencies, our staff have been greeted with exemplary cooperation, in others, especially the Ministry of Defense, we have been hampered by political leadership, Biden said when speaking to the press in the city of Wilmington on Monday.

He also said that the US security apparatus has suffered extensive damage while Donald Trump has been president.

– The truth is that the organisms necessary for our security have suffered enormous damage. Many are eroded in terms of staff, capacity and morale. That makes it more difficult for our administration to protect the American people, he continued.

Biden accuses the Trump administration of setting up what he calls “roadblocks” to his new administration.

– At the moment, we are not getting all the information we need from the outgoing administration on important matters of national security. It is, in my opinion, nothing but irresponsible, sa Biden.

Biden insists his team needs a comprehensive view of the budget process at the Department of Defense to avoid any chance of confusion or delay that enemies of the US may exploit.

Advised by advisers

Earlier in the day, Biden was briefed by several of his advisers on, among other things, defense and security issues, and it is these who, according to Biden, have discovered that agencies that are “absolutely necessary for our security have suffered enormous damage” during Trump’s time in the White House.

After Biden won the November 3 presidential election, Trump has refused to admit defeat. He has also not met with Biden and it is unclear if he will attend the opening ceremony in January.
