Since December 17, two police officers have ensured that the 97-year-old woman violates self-isolation rules.
Chief of Security David Buch is the chief of security for the police in North Zealand. She confirms to Ekstra Bladet that the police are at the nursing home at all hours of the day to make sure the woman does not leave the house.
I went out a couple times
The woman has a mental illness and the police received a request from the Danish Agency for Patient Safety (SPS) to take care of the woman.
– She’s been out a couple of times and then they asked us to make sure it doesn’t happen again. It’s a shame for her, says Buch.
Furthermore, he tells the newspaper that this is the first time since the corona pandemic began that police in North Zealand have taken on a task like this.
– Above all, it shows that these are very special times in which we live, he says.
It’s not the first time this year
An SPS spokesperson tells Ekstra Bladet that a total of six similar orders, such as isolation, have been implemented in 2020. In all cases, police have been asked for help.
With the new rules of the Epidemic Law, SPS has the option of ordering that infected people be examined, admitted or isolated, but only if it is absolutely necessary to prevent the spread of the virus.
