This year, Norway Post has had to handle 50 percent more packages before Christmas than in 2019, but has nonetheless emptied the Christmas mail terminals.
In the run-up to Christmas, we have delivered more than two million packages each week, says press manager Kenneth Tjønndal Pettersen at Norway Post in a press release.
– We also see that the number of handwritten letters has been sent in larger quantities than we expected. We believe it is because this year Norwegians want to send personal and physical Christmas greetings to friends and family, he says.

Although there is now no Christmas mail in the country’s postal terminals, on Christmas Eve morning there were still 250,000 uncollected packages at the country’s post offices and at the Post in Shop.
