Doctors who treated regime critic Alexei Navalny in Berlin have published in The Lancet what they believe to be proof that he was poisoned with the neurotoxin novitsjok.
Doctors from the Berlin state hospital Charité in the article in the renowned medical journal detail the symptoms that Navalny had when he was admitted to them in August, a few days after he collapsed on a plane between Siberia and Moscow.
They also post information about your physical reaction to injections, CT scans, MRIs, and other treatments.
Researchers from laboratories in Germany, Sweden and France have independently shown that Navalny was poisoned with the neurotoxin that only Russian authorities can release.
The Russian authorities have denied any involvement in the poisoning. President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly asked Germany to publish evidence that it is behind it.
In a bitter comment on Facebook, Navalny says the most important thing now that the medical information has been released is that Putin is relieved.
The Lancet article comes just two days after Navalny posted a video in which he misled an alleged FSB agent, one of those suspected of being behind the poisoning, to reveal details about the course of events.
The EU has imposed sanctions on top Russian officials based on the analyzes in the three countries. The Kremlin responded on Wednesday by expanding its list of representatives from EU member states who are denied entry to Russia.
