Despite extensive search operations, no one has seen 43-year-old Maria From Jakobsen since she disappeared without a trace nearly two months ago.
On October 26 he left his home in Fredrikssund in Denmark. He only had a small bag of clothes and some cash. The mobile phone, the bank card and the computer were left at home.
When no one heard or saw anything else about Maria that day, she was finally reported missing, writes Danish TV 2.
After several weeks of investigation, North Zealand police charged Maria’s husband, Thomas Gotthard, with murder.

Various suspicious circumstances
Gotthard usually works as a parish priest, but has been detained since November.
– He is accused of having killed his wife María. “We found a number of suspicious circumstances after questioning the witnesses and the accused,” Deputy Police Inspector Lau Lauritzen tells Danish TV 2.
Last week, the North Zealand police published several photos of St Gotthard and asked the public for advice. The police will have help to map the priest’s movements on the day Maria disappeared and in the period before and after the disappearance.

On the same day that Maria disappeared, Gotthard conducted a series of suspicious searches on the Internet. Among other things, he searched for sea beds, barrels of oil, suicides, disappearances and cleaning products.

Court documents show that police believe Gotthard has tried to figure out how to dispose of a body.

Police have invested a lot of resources to investigate the case, but they say the work has been demanding.
– I have never experienced such a complex case and with so many teams. It is a difficult case to investigate and it takes time. But we do everything we can and have put in all the necessary resources, says Lauritzen.
The police have carried out an exhaustive search for Maria, but have not found any trace of the woman. Ekstra Bladet writes that the police searched on Monday this week with more than 20 dead dogs.
– It is absolutely crucial that we find her, both to know what has happened and to be able to catch the person who may be behind, says Lauritzen.
