It was on October 22 last year when the man hijacked an ambulance by pointing a shotgun at two ambulance workers at Rosenhoff in Oslo. The police followed the ambulance and fired several shots during the chase. The journey passed through the streets of Torshov before the ambulance finally smashed into the door of an apartment building on Krebs Street and the man was arrested.

On the way, the ambulance was driving in a stroller in front of Sandaker Senter, where there was a pair of seven-month-old twins. The twins’ mother and an elderly couple had to jump to avoid being hit. None of them were seriously injured.

The minute later, he tried to run over two men, according to the prosecution. They both had to be thrown away.

Aimed at shotguns at cops

The man is also accused of threatening two policemen and a civilian with a shotgun after the car he was in shortly before hijacking the ambulance ended up on the roof in an accident in Torshovdalen.

It all must have happened while the man was high on drugs.

The man is also accused of having stored 47 liters of GBL, which is a substance used to make GHB, 235 diazepam tablets, 33 clonazepam tablets, as well as small amounts of amphetamine and heroin during the October 22 incident.

He started doing drugs when he was 12 years old. On Tuesday, he thundered through the streets of Oslo with a hijacked ambulance.

The indictment also includes an incident from August 31, 2019. He is later said to have driven in Oslo under the influence of drugs. In the car, the man had a loaded and sawed-off shotgun. The man also seized large quantities of diazepam, a bulletproof vest, a tear gas canister, a combat glove, handcuffs, an ax and a baton.

In all, there are 24 counts in the indictment. The Oslo District Court informs NTB that the case is not currently scheduled.

Not questioned since October last year

The 33-year-old has been in detention since he was arrested due to the risk of recidivism.

The man’s defender, lawyer Øyvind Bergøy Pedersen, tells NTB that he has not yet read the indictment and therefore does not want to comment on it.

According to Pedersen, his client has not been questioned by the police after a brief preliminary questioning on the day of his arrest.

– The reason he has not been questioned is that we wanted to wait for the prosecution, says Pedersen.

Appeared as remorse in court

On November 4, the man met for the first time at a prison meeting about the case. During the meeting at the prison, the man said he is drug free after receiving treatment in prison.
