TO SEE AND HEAR: – This is childish of me, of course, but by driving eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, I hope to pay a little attention to how fraudulent their methods are, says host Mads Hansen on See and Hear. Photo: Fredrik Solstad, VG

The same day he complained to Se og Hør about PFU, Mads Hansen posted the editor-in-chief’s number on Instagram. – Heat and harassment, responds the editor.

Published:

– What I do is legal, but unethical and in bad style. This is exactly how Se og Hør mainly operates, host Mads Hansen tells VG, referring to the magazine’s proceedings, to which he reacts strongly.

It emerged on Friday that Mads Hansen has complained to Se og Hør against Pressens Faglige Utvalg (PFU). That same night, the host hung up the phone number of Se og Hør’s editor-in-chief, Ulf André Andersen, in a story for his 475,000 followers.

For the record: Hansen is affiliated with VG as a program manager at VGTV’s Spårtsklubben.

Hansen says the purpose was to show that the See and Hear methods are fraudulent, although they are not necessarily illegal.

– This is childish of me, of course, but in driving tit for tat, tooth for tooth, I hope to pay a little attention to how dishonest your methods are.

A photo of the editor was posted, also showing his phone number and address, with the following text:

“One thing that would have been legal on the inside would have been to look for the editor-in-chief in 1881 and ask people to call him and send him a message and tell him what they think about the proceedings of the magazine he runs. But I’ll still be too good for that, “Hansen wrote.

Gets critical support from See and Hear

Hansen’s story has drawn reactions from other celebrities, who also share their experiences with See and Hear. One of them is NRK host and profile Nicolay Ramm.

I, like Mads, find it cultured and invasive that my house is shown in See and hear completely without my permission, writes Ramm in an SMS to VG.

– By pure coincidence, I saw my face on the cover of last week’s issue of See and Hear. The headline was “Wedding Canceled,” which is not even true, Ramm writes.

– Our wedding is exposed to the crown, not canceled. It almost feels like I’ve become single, and when that sort of thing appears in a big magazine, you get bored.

Received more than 500 inquiries

Hansen’s Instagram followers appear to have taken the invitation to contact See and Hear’s editor seriously.

– I received more than 500 phone calls and messages last night, and I wished everyone who had time to respond Merry Christmas, writes editor-in-chief Ulf André Andersen in a text message to VG.

You think the magazine is clear.

– See and Hear is based on a secure journalistic foundation, unlike Mads Hansen. For a profiled presenter to conduct purity and harassment is simply sad and shows great lack of judgment, Andersen writes.

– I hope Hansen has advisers and tutors who can tell him how far from his normal behavior he is now.

Andersen has also received criticism from Ramm, but has not responded to it.

Hansen: Normal reactions haven’t helped

– The fact that Se og Hør’s editor claims that they are on sound journalistic grounds, and not least should teach others what good judgment is, is as if I should start as a singing teacher, Hansen writes to VG Andersen’s answer is presented to him.

– If sharing a publicly available phone number, in addition to showing examples of cases where they have behaved fraudulently, is “pure incitement and harassment”, yes, then what I am dealing with is pure incitement and harassment.

– The statement that suggests that I need advisers and tutors, I put it in the account of pure government technique, and I see no reason to comment more, says Hansen.

He believes the only thing he and Se og Hør’s editor-in-chief agree on is that what Hansen has done is outside of normal behavior.

“Unfortunately, for more than 40 years it has been shown that reactions within the norm have not caused Watching and Listening to change its strongly unethical practice,” he writes.

Hansen writes that Andersen is welcome to visit to discuss the trial and journalistic integrity.

– If you don’t know where I live, you can just turn to page 40 in this week’s See and Hear, Hansen concludes.
