With its nearly 8,000 deaths per corona, more than 350,000 infected, and a different approach to rules and measures, Sweden has attracted global attention.
Despite austerity measures, the country set an infection record Thursday with 9,659 cases in one day.

In Denmark, there are now new daily infection records with thousands of new infections every day.
On Friday, for the third day in a row, a record infection was reported with 4,508 new cases over the course of a day.
Already last week, the authorities took measures and introduced a partial closure in half of the country’s municipalities. But as the number of infected has constantly reached new levels, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen introduces invasive measures at the national level.
– From Friday, December 25 to January 3, Denmark will be closed in practice, Frederiksen said when he introduced the new measures earlier this week.
The Prime Minister was also aware that she believes the most difficult months await them.

Professor Olsen from Sweden believes Denmark will do better in the coming weeks.

On Friday, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven tightened his grip on the Swedish measures. Nozzles in public transport, a maximum of four people per table in a restaurant and the ban on selling alcohol after 8pm are some of the new measures that Swedes must now comply with.

NTNU professor of social medicine Steinar Westin is critical of the handling of Swedes and agrees with his fellow Swedish professor that the time has come to shut down.
– Such a closure today could probably stop the infection that has devastated Swedish society. But before, there has been no political will to do so. And they still can’t protect the elderly or hospital staff, he told Dagbladet on Friday.
Jörn Klein, professor of microbiology and infection control at the University of Southeast Norway, thinks it is too late for the Swedes to turn around.
– The Swedes have definitely chosen the wrong strategy, and even if they turn around now, they will obviously die more in the next time, he told Dagbladet on Friday.
