– We can confirm that he died around 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. “We have arrested a person who we have charged in the case,” says Rune Skjold, head of the finance and special legislation section in the Oslo police district.
The accused is a man in his 30s. The defendant has admitted in the interrogation that he led the 13-year-old.
– The man is charged with negligent homicide, in addition to driving under the influence of drugs, Skjold tells NRK.

Police are investigating whether the man drove while intoxicated Thursday night.
The accident happened at Grorud station in Oslo.
Defendant’s Defender: – Panicked
The man’s defender, attorney Harald Fjeldstad, told NRK late Friday that his client admits to driving the car and driving the 13-year-old boy.
– He panicked and left. He intended to stop, but several came to help. In a panic, he left the scene, says Fjeldstad.
The man in his 30s is surprised that the police want to arrest him.
– The police claim there is a danger of it happening again, but there is no basis to believe that, my client believes, says Fjeldstad.
Drove from the scene
The collision took place near the intersection between the Maria Delhi and Grorudveien highway.
The boy was crossing a crosswalk at Grorud station in Oslo when he was hit by a car. Then the car disappeared from the scene.
On Thursday night, the police urged the driver of the car to contact them and arrested him overnight.
The man is also accused of having had a traffic accident and having left the place, without helping to save lives.
– It should not be ruled out that this position can be extended, says Skjold.
The man’s defender, Harald Fjeldstad, is still being questioned by the defendant and has therefore not responded to NRK’s questions on Friday afternoon.
Detained at home
On Friday morning, the police stated that a man in his 30s had been arrested in the case.
The man in his 30s left the scene of the accident but was arrested at his home around 1 p.m. Friday.
The 13-year-old boy was confirmed dead at 3:10 p.m. by doctors at the Ullevål hospital, says the police inspector. Family members have been notified.
– They are basically followed by health personnel and are affected naturally, says Skjold.
