Mustafa Hasan was summoned by Martin Ødegaard – NRK Sport – Sports news, results and broadcast schedule

Martin Ødegaard picked up the phone on Thursday night and called Mustafa Hasan (18), who is no longer allowed to stay in Norway. Ødegaard has publicly shown his support for Hasan, and several stars of the national team have remained.

– For me, it is obvious that in this case all common sense has been put aside, writes Ødegaard on his Instagram profile.

So he decided to turn to Hasan, and for the 18-year-old it was a surreal experience.

– I laughed as soon as he finished. He is my soccer idol, Hasan told NRK.

– Completely indescribable

Mustafa Hasan has lived in Norway for 13 years, after his mother and four brothers arrived in the country from Jordan. The family received a provisional residence permit, but when the authorities found out that he had given incorrect information about nationality, they began a long struggle to become a veranda in the country.

Since 2012, Hasan has lived in uncertainty. The Board of Immigration Appeals has reviewed the case on several occasions and has reached court, but it has been postponed three times. Now the next deadline is January 18.

– Mustafa is punished for something he has not done himself. You must be prepared for another act you did when you were six years old. I think it’s completely wrong, Ødegaard continues.

Ødegaard wanted to be involved in Hasan’s case and got Nike soccer coach Jamal El Mazari to visit him at Nesbru Senior High School.

– I never thought that I would get to talk to him, express myself and correct his opinion. It’s completely unbelievable, says Hasan.

In addition to having a virtual meeting with the Real Madrid player, Hasan received two national team uniforms signed by Ødegaard and the rest of the national soccer team. A home kit and a visitor kit.

– It is indescribable that a person who has nothing to do with me cares. What he does to this day has nothing to do with my case, apart from knowing what is right and what is wrong, he continues.

Hasan thinks it shows how incredibly wonderful Ødegaard is and points out that we are all human.

– Show that no matter how rich, popular or important you are, you are human and have common sense. There is no difference between Martin Ødegaard and me, or you and Justin Bieber. That’s what you have to say, believe, and do for others, he says.

Star support

The walls of Nesbru Upper Secondary School are adorned with hearts in consideration for the friend from school. And dozens of sheets have been posted to show local community choirs supporting the signature campaign to stop broadcasting.

– I want to be more than just having three weeks of freedom every time I get them to send me. It’s not a life for anyone, he says.

He now has new fans on the Norwegian national team. Among others, Jens Petter Hauge, Haitam Aleesami, Mohamed Elyounoussi and Caroline Graham Hansen have participated in the case. All the members of the Norwegian team have signed the suits they received on Thursday.

It’s hot, but he’s tired and bored.

– I can not let go. There are many who support me. I’m hopeful that it will all end well in the end and I don’t intend to give up, no matter how tired or broken I am, Hasan says.

  • The Board of Immigration Appeals did not have a chance to be interviewed by NRK on Friday. They refer to previous statements in which they have said that Hasan’s residence permit is granted for the wrong reasons.
  • This fall, the case was reevaluated by the president of the UNE board, and it landed on the assessment that the return situation is better than before, since it is over 18 years old and has grown in accordance with the regulations.
  • If the case goes to court in the new year, we will reconsider the content.

Reacts strongly to treatment.

Tore Reginiussen has previously been involved in the Abbasi case in Trondheim. He’s proud that Ødegaard uses his status to fight for issues like this.

– Even if you are a soccer player, you should not be afraid to stand up for something and fight for the problems we believe in. This is a guy having a terribly difficult day and he doesn’t know what to expect. Hopefully we can change that, Reginiussen tells NRK.

He reacts strongly to how people are treated in cases like this.

– The way in which young people are treated is terrible. I have long believed that human care receives very little emphasis on these issues.

– What do you want to tell the Board of Immigration Appeals?

– I just hope they use common sense and emphasize humane care more. It is about a boy who has been bidding in Norway since he was a child, and who knows no other day than the one he has in Norway. Then you must bear the consequences of something that is not your fault, concludes Reginiussen.
