Police arrested and charged a man in his 30s for the collision.

– The stopped driver of a dark Mitsubishi SUV admitted in the interrogation to having driven on the pedestrian and is currently accused of the Road Traffic Law § 31, cf. § 12, but this will be extended, says Rune Skjold, head of Finans investigation and specialized letter investigation in the Oslo police district, to Dagbladet.

Under investigation

Dagbladet receives confirmation that the defendant is currently under investigation in another criminal case, which deals with driving under the influence of drugs.

– When did this relationship happen?

– Not long ago, without my being able to give more details. Therefore, we want to take him into custody at the risk of reappearing, says Skjold.

The man will be presented for custody at the Oslo District Court on Saturday.

Dagbladet has been in contact with the defendant’s defender, Harald Fjeldstad, who claims on Friday afternoon that he is being questioned.

Arrested on friday night

It was Friday night that police arrested a man in his 30s after beating the boy, who was first described as seriously injured.

Witnesses Thursday night described the incident as the car driving at high speed and hitting the boy, who was thrown into the air and then collided with another car.

An extensive police manhunt began after the driver fled the scene.

– The man was arrested for very good police work on Friday night. Operational teams managed to locate the man we believe is the correct perpetrator, Skjold tells Dagbladet.

– How did the arrest take place?

– It went smoothly.

The man was arrested in his own home.

Police ordered a black BMW or an electric car Thursday night. At the same time, motorists with in-car video cameras who were in the relevant area when the incident occurred were asked to review their recordings if they had a dash cam.
