Two men ages 36 and 34 are charged with attempted murder.
The 36-year-old man was arrested last night. He has had attorney Knut Lerum appointed as his defense attorney.
– He gave a police statement last night, but I don’t want to go into what he explained. What I can say is that he admits no fault. He’s deeply desperate for what he came up with, says Lerum.
Detained at the hotel
The second arrest took place shortly after 1 pm Friday at a hotel in downtown Stavanger, police said in a press release.
The man (26) who was shot is admitted to the Stavanger University Hospital. He was seriously injured.
– The police are not aware of the details of his extent of damage now. He has not been able to be questioned, says police attorney Lars Ole Berge.
Convicted of rape
The 36-year-old woman was sentenced in 2017 to four years in prison for raping a nachspiel in central Stavanger.
As far as NRK knows, he was released before the summer after serving three years.
He was previously convicted of trafficking in small amounts of drugs.
The other defendant (34) stated in a trial two years ago that he had lost his job in the oil industry at that time. At the time I was quite depressed and was using drugs. The man was then a Swedish citizen.
This fall, the 34-year-old has been active on Finn.no, where he has sold various assets.
Based on previous convictions against the defendants, it may appear that they have been primarily related to cannabis and narcotic tablets.
Unknown reason for the shooting
It is currently unknown what was the reason for the shooting episode last night.
Police arrived at the restaurant shortly after the shooting, just before midnight. Then the restaurant closed and there were no other people present.
When asked why the two defendants were in the restaurant after closing time, police attorney Lars Ole Berge says the three had reached a private agreement on the matter.
The relationship between the three is unknown. The police also cannot confirm where the two defendants live.
– We are investigating. The two were known and did not necessarily have an obvious address, says Berge.
Police will not delve into what the two have been involved in before.
– The two defendants are well known to the police since before due to different circumstances. They have previously been sanctioned, both with a penalty and a fine.
The Sør-Vest Police District requests that the public with information about the case contact the police number 02800.
