On Friday, the Norwegian royal family shared a series of photos of what it looked like when King Harald (83) held a cabinet while in quarantine in March.
King and Queen Sonja (83) had recently been on a state visit to Jordan when Norway closed in March, prompting the king to lead the weekly cabinet digitally, due to the quarantine.
However, Crown Prince Haakon was present in the Council Chamber in the castle.
The Royal House has published a total of five photos, which were taken in the period from March 13 to May 7.
Shortly after the royal couple returned from their state visit in March, the royal family canceled much of the show. King Harald and Queen Sonja were then isolated.
Only in May did the royal couple once again participate in an official mission. It happened on the day of liberation on May 8.
New quarantine
The royal couple once again had to be quarantined when a court clerk tested positive for coronavirus in November. Queen Sonja had had close contact with the person in question, but neither the queen nor the king were infected.
The royal couple in quarantine
“Today Covid-19 has been detected in an employee of the Royal Court. His Majesty the King is in self-imposed home quarantine. His Majesty the Queen is in quarantine as a result of close contact with the person in question,” it was stated in the statement from press of the royal house.
14 Royal Court employees had to be quarantined as a result of the outbreak.
“The court has routines that are in line with the rules and recommendations of the authorities related to infection control, including the practice of remote regulations, the use of face masks, intensified cleaning and hand hygiene, as well as the use of home offices, “the press release said.
As a result of the quarantine, the king once again had to direct the minister by phone, this time from Bygdøy Kongsgård.
