NEW YORK (Dagbladet): Outgoing US President Donald Trump and other Republicans have made violent accusations of corruption and tax evasion against Hunter Biden (50), son of incoming Democrat President Joe Biden.
Last week, Hunter Biden himself stated that he had just been informed that he had been under a federal investigation for tax matters since 2018.
Hunter Biden is under investigation in a tax case
– We have a lot of confidence in our son. I’m not worried about the charges against him. It used to go over me. I think it’s a bit of a dirty game, but it’s like that He is a grown man. He is the smartest man I know intellectually. And as long as he’s okay, we’re okay, Biden says in an interview with talk show host Stephen Colbert on CBS Thursday.
– As a father, I understand and admire him. But in your job as president, can you work with people who use this as an attack on you when it is a very personal attack and it involves family? Colbert asks.
– If it’s good for the country, then yes. I really mean it, says Biden.
– Legal and appropriate
It was Wednesday of last week that Hunter Biden himself said he was under investigation.
– Yesterday I first learned that the Delaware Attorney General’s Office is investigating my tax situation. I take this very seriously, but I am confident that a professional and objective review will show that I have handled my tax cases legally and properly, even with the help of professional accountants, Hunter says in the statement.

The investigation is led by the state’s State Attorney’s Office, says Hunter Biden.
Joe Biden has had to endure a lot of attention for his son Hunter and his well-paid position on the board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma while he was vice president himself. Trump has repeatedly used the story to paint a picture of Biden as corrupt, unable to present strong evidence for the allegations.
