There has been an extensive police search of a red Mercedes A-Class on Tuesday afternoon and evening. In the 20-30 period, the police claim that active search is decreasing.
– The case is still being thoroughly investigated. We have good faith that we will find the perpetrator and have a clear idea of who he is, says operations manager Terje Marstad.
Police say the incident started with an emergency patrol stopping the car to inspect it.
– When the policemen get out of the company car, the driver of the Mercedes turns his back on them with great force. The speed is so great that a police officer is injured and the police car suffers significant material damage, making it impossible to drive, says Marstad.
The police officer was conscious and was transferred to the Kalnes trauma reception. The condition is described below as “successful”.
Great resources
Soon after, the Mercedes withdrew from the police again.
– At Langhus, another patrol crossed the car, but once again avoided control. We use great resources in the search for the car and we take the incident very seriously, says the operations manager.
Police claim that it is not the owner of the car who is behind the wheel. The operations manager will not respond if the police know the person in question before or if they suspect the car has been stolen.

Police want advice from the public if they see the car, which likely sped north on E6 or back roads after the incident.
At the same time, they ask people to be alert.
– We want people to know if they are in the car. The driver has shown that the person in question is capable of carrying out acts that endanger the lives of the police officers, says Marstad.
The director of operations also makes a strong appeal to the driver of the Mercedes.
– We hope you think it through and recommend that you contact the police, he says.
