Single minimum pensioners receive an additional jackpot of NOK 4,000. This only applies to those who were minimum pensioners in 2020, but the money will be paid in 2021.

The money will be paid out over Christmas, as soon as technically possible. But it will probably be until the summer before the money arrives, due to the great need for manual payments.

It arises from Wednesday’s agreement between the Conservative, Liberal and KrF government parties and the Progress Party on the balance of this year’s state budget.

– Including the budget unit above, today we ensure that individual minimum pensioners receive several thousand additional crowns in 2021, says Hans Andreas Limi, fiscal politician of the Progress Party, to NTB.

Increased several times

KrF fiscal politician Tore Storehaug points out that the individual grant is in addition to the increase that has occurred for individual minimum pensioners in recent years and the next.

– KrF has in negotiations three times before increased the sum by 4000 crowns, and in the budget unit for 2021 it will be increased by 5000 more, he tells NTB.

In the budget unit earlier this fall, it was agreed that the single minimum pensioners will receive an annual increase of NOK 5,000, effective from July 2021. The money that is set aside according to Wednesday’s agreement will also be paid on next year.

– Not in the goal

At the same time, FRP and SV have together put forward a proposal to change pension regulation with the aim of better and more predictable income growth, as well as an escalation plan for the minimum pension.

Limi calls Wednesday’s news a big step in the right direction, but emphasizes that Frp is not on target.

– FRP will now continue the fight to strengthen the conditions of pensioners. We will use the momentum we have gained in the negotiations on a new pension agreement to improve income growth for retirees in the future as well, he says.
