West Bromwich confirmed in a press release that coach Slaven Bilic (52) has been fired.

It comes in less than 24 hours after the team hijacked a strong away point against Manchester City after 1-1 at the Etihad. However, the performance was not enough to save Bilic, who has had to see that West Brom has been a pitching ball so far this season.

After 13 games, the team remains with seven poor points. The team has only won one game so far. Only Sheffield United has worse scores in the Premier League.

According to The Athletic and Telegraph, among others, Sam Allaradyce will take over. Allardyce has been out of work since leaving Everton in 2018.

West Brom claims that assistant coaches Dean Racunia and Danilo Butrovic as well as first team coach Julian Dicks have also left the club with immediate effect.

Bilic is the first manager to be fired in the Premier League this season.

Bilic led West Brom back to the Premier League after finishing second in the Championship last season.
