The trial against Moan, whom the police believe to be one of the most notorious scammers in Norwegian history, has been going on since September. In addition to the prison sentence, the prosecutor requested the confiscation of just over 13 million NOK and 3.8 million NOK in compensation to the aggrieved.

The 50-year-old man, who himself denies his criminal guilt, has already been detained for almost two years. Her defender, attorney Per Zimmer, tells the channel that six years in prison is experienced as violent for a person who feels completely innocent.

You already have a record of several bankruptcies and prison sentences for financial crimes. Moan had been wanted internationally since 2013. He was arrested in Malaysia and extradited to Norway in January last year.

As early as December 2017, he was charged with serious fraud, attempted serious fraud and cure of at least 10 million NOK. In January of last year, the charge was extended to apply to 40 other fraud and identity thefts.

Helge Moan is accused, among other things, of having incited various people to pay themselves or others a total of approximately NKr 4.5 million in the period 2011 to 2018 in Norway and / or Malaysia.
