Many will now not have to go to quarantined hotels when they come to Norway. Here is the new form of government.
As of 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, the new entry quarantine rules came into force.
If you can document that you have a suitable place where you can be quarantined when you come from abroad, you can avoid quarantined hotels, confirms the Ministry of Justice to VG.
– The main rule is that it should be done in a hotel, but if you own or rent a house, or have another suitable place, then you can quarantine there, says Monica Mæland.
For a location to be considered “suitable,” it must have a private room, access to its own bathroom, and access to a kitchen or food service.

Several possible alternatives
The traveler must present a confirmation that the place of residence meets the requirements, from the person who makes the place of residence available. The forms can be found on the government website.
To be quarantined outside of a quarantined hotel, you must check one of several points on the form.
Or that you are a resident or have a permanent residence in Norway, and you must carry out the quarantine at home or in another suitable place of residence, and that this can be documented.
Or that you are married or have a child in common with a person living in Norway, and you must carry out the entry quarantine in the home of this person, and you can document it.
Another alternative is that you have come to Norway for work or assignments. You then need to confirm that the employer or client provides a suitable place to stay with a private room with TV and internet, private bathroom and kitchen or food service.
You can also avoid quarantined hotels if you have access to another suitable place to stay where it is possible to avoid close contact with others, with private rooms, access to your own bathroom and kitchen or food service, and you have confirmation from the person who makes the place available.
A final alternative is to quarantine in quarantine hotels.

You can leave the hotel
The form indicates that you cannot be forced to stay in quarantined hotels and that you can choose to leave the hotel. However, in the event of a violation of the quarantine rules, the police can be contacted. The police may assess criminal prosecution for violations of the rules.
Intentional or gross negligent violation of quarantine rules can be punished with fines or imprisonment for up to 6 months, the form indicates.
