LAST: Dortmund confirmed Sunday afternoon that Favre is finished at the club. He is also his assistant, Manfred Stenes.

Dortmund writes on their channels that Edin Terzic (38) leads the team for the rest of the season. He has been part of the Favre support staff. Terzic joins former U17 coach Sebastian Geppert and talent developer Otto Addo on the new coaching team.
Simen Stamsø-Møller is clear who he expects Erling Braut Haaland’s new coach to be when they hire someone permanently.
– If I know the club well, they will bring in a new coach who is at least as offensive as Favre has been in recent seasons. He has the attack game to deliver. At first glance, I don’t know how positive it is, but it depends on who comes in, says the TV 2 expert.

– What I see as an illusion is that Dortmund brings Mauricio Pochettino. He is a great coach and Dortmund have a project that I think they will like with many young players. It is also available and I think it would fit well in German football. I’d really like to see him continue to work with the stable in Dortmund and get the same amount from Haaland, continues Stamsø-Møller.
He doesn’t think Haaland could be significantly affected by the manager change.
– I think Erling Braut Haaland had good chemistry with Favre. But during his career, he has become used to changing coaches here and there. I don’t think that can influence him much. Dortmund have had three really weak results and I think it was therefore inevitable. That’s what the job cost Favre, Stamsø-Møller believes.
– But Haaland will continue to replace goals, and a new coach can probably get even more out of the team, he continues.

Dortmund continued as group champion in the Champions League, but in the Bundesliga they have not done so well. The club occupies fifth place after eleven league games. They are five points behind Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig in the lead, and have lost four games.
Favre was the coach who brought Erling Braut Haaland to the club last winter. The super forward has been injured the last four games.
Dortmund have only won one of them, the Champions League game against Zenit St. Petersburg. Favre, 63, took over Dortmund in the summer of 2018.
