The woman had been missing since Friday afternoon, when an acquaintance of the woman alerted the police.

The 29-year-old had told him that she was going down the urban and popular mountain towards Soleide, and she had gotten off the road.

On the phone he told me that the area was very slippery and steep. After that, no one contacted her again.

The woman was found in difficult and steep terrain on the way to Soleide.

Police confirmed the finding in a press release Saturday afternoon.

Work at Førde

The woman who died is from abroad and worked at the central hospital in Førde. She has been employed in a temporary position since October and has been hiking in the mountains in the area before. The woman was wearing a thin waterproof jacket when she disappeared.

– Viefjellet demands walking, especially if the person in question was coming down the mountain towards Soleide, says Karl Vie.

He is a well-known landowner in the area and has been in town to contribute as an acquaintance to search teams. It says that good visibility is essential to find a safe place.

– There is a point on the road to Soleide where there is only one descent. If you get out of the way there, you should be lucky to find that point. If you can’t find your way, it’s ugly there. So it’s high downhill. In the worst case, we are talking 150 meters down, says Vie.
