This is stated by the brewery in a press release on Saturday afternoon.
– For the safety of our consumers, we have no choice but to recall the products that have been bottled in this type of bottle, says the quality manager at Ringnes, Olaug Flakne, in the press release.
Products to which this applies are Dahl’s Christmas Soda, Dahl’s Lett Christmas Soda, Hamar & Lillehammer Christmas Soda, Hamar & Lillehammer’s Lett Christmas Soda, Mozell Eplemost and Tou Eplemost.
Ringnes has received 13 complaints out of a total of 13 million bottles produced. Reviewers refer to the recall as a “precautionary” measure. Damage to bottles is visible after opening.
“Therefore, consumers should not worry that they have drunk from a damaged bottle without it being discovered,” says Flakne.
Ringnes head of communications Nicolay Bruusgaard says that consumers who return unopened bottles to the point of sale will be reimbursed.
– Having to recall our popular Christmas soda products for two weeks before Christmas Eve is, of course, sad and something for which we deeply apologize. But more important than anything else is the safety of consumers. When we cannot guarantee that our bottles are safe to drink, we sadly have no choice but to recall them from the market, says Bruusgaard.
