Parts of the coastal dunes at Foveran Links on President Donald Trump’s golf course in Aberdeenshire have lost their special environmental protection, the Associated Press reports.
“Following the construction of the Trump International Golf Links facility in the dune system on the Menie property, this site does not deserve to be retained as part of the Special Scientific Interest (SSI) area,” the Scottish Environment Agency NatureScot said in a Press release.
The golf course has been controversial for a long time, and for many years there has been concern that the dunes would lose the protection of plant and animal life.
