It is undemocratic for unknown activists to be promoted to spokespersons.

On Thursday, December 3, we read on VG that the streaming service Dplay has decided to withdraw the series Elves over the forest and hello. This is because one of Espen Eckbo’s characters is dark in complexion. It creates controversy, because many have compared it to “blackface”.
On social media, Dplay is criticized by several who believe this is the wrong decision. I agree with that.
Who do they represent?
It is largely the same names and environments that invoke the violation on behalf of others. This time, it has been mainly Instagram accounts like racisme_i_norge and racisme.i.norge. So why not ask the main players and media who and how many of them really represent? And is what they say entirely true?
We are very happy with the opinion polls in this country, so why not do one where “everyone with an immigrant background has had the run-up to Christmas ruined by the Eckbo debate?»?

When the main actors really act on the basis of an Instagram account for an activist environment, it’s time to slow down a bit and think about where we are heading as a society.
Ceiling height for mood
It is simply undemocratic for unknown activists to be “promoted” to advocates of many hundreds of thousands. And since when was it decided that we should all abide by and obey Instagram accounts?
There must be a high ceiling for humor. But by criticizing comedians who actually include everyone in a sketch or series, we problematize something that shouldn’t have been problematized.
It is not Espen Eckbo who is the problem in this case, it is Dplay and the big players who should be ashamed. Political activists can use them to portray the Norwegian immigrant population in a totally incorrect way.
