A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Southeastern police reported Wednesday afternoon on Twitter that there has been a collision between a moose and a car in Skien.

– There are significant material injuries and one person is seriously injured, Operations Manager Otta Steinstø tells Nettavisen.

The 50-year-old wounded was picked up in an ambulance and taken to hospital after the accident.

There were no other people in the car, Steinstø tells Nettavisen.

He informs VG that the man has no life-threatening injuries. According to TA.no, the moose died in the collision.

The accident occurred at Gisholtvegen in Skien.

According to TA.no, the road is blocked while the car is being rescued. The queues must have accumulated in both directions on the site.

The police were notified of the accident at 3:23 p.m.
