Benn Eidissen falls moving to Bø in Vesterålen

– Now I register that the authorities want to activate a set of rules that is such that you must have lived most of the days and nights in Bø to be able to count you as a true Bø spring equation. I never intended to do that and I want to follow Norwegian law and rules, Benn Eidissen tells TV 2.

The regulations to which it refers are the rule of the Tax Administration for registration in the National Population Registry and that is that you must be a resident at the address where you spend the most nights.

The claim, Eidissen with a fortune of 287 million, will be difficult to fulfill.

– I am in favor of paying taxes, but when the Tax Administration chooses to use a practice like never before, I choose to return to Bodø. I still want to do a lot with those who choose to move there and who choose to have the same point of view that I choose to have, says Eidissen.

Eidissen announced a move to Bø in Vesterålen earlier this year, he also secured a house for eight million crowns.

Mayor Sture Pedersen tells Vesterålen Online that he is not surprised by Eidissen’s decision.

– I am completely sure that Eidissen is one of those who will invest the most in Bø in the coming years. Perhaps you have felt that there are close relationships between us, and now you assume the consequences of this. The media has started to take a closer look at our project, and I think it’s okay for Eidissen to be open about this. As I said, I think he will be one of our biggest supporters in terms of business development and job creation going forward, Pedersen told the newspaper.

Cheers for the low estate tax

A few hours after the Bø city council decided to reduce the wealth tax on December 12 last year, Eidissen applauded the municipality’s historic decision to reduce the wealth tax to 0.35 percent.

– I absolutely hope that Bø succeeds with this move and that more investors and entrepreneurs move to Bø and create value in society, Eidissen told Vesterålen Online.

He has also spoken out loud about the investment plans in Bø.

In early November, some of the township’s new billionaires, Kristian Adolfsen, Benn Eidissen and Bjørn Dæhlie, announced that, together with Roger Adolfsen, they would invest several ‘tens of millions’ in the development of 16 new boathouses on a property in Vinjesjøen in the municipality of Bø. Both NRK and DN covered the project.

Last week DN was able to report that wealthy Norwegians had pulled out of the project.

I’m not sure if he wants to live in Bø.

Another fortune teller who recently announced a move to “Norway’s answer to Monaco” is Brazilian investor Rikard Storvestre. He is still not sure if he himself will move from tropical Natal in Brazil to Bø in Vesterålen.

– I have paid taxes to Sortland for a long time without having lived there and it has never been a problem. I can’t understand why people should spend time finding out where I live. If I am forcibly transferred to Natal, it might as well be, says Storvestre.

He recently got a single family home in Bø municipality for NOK 700,000. When asked why he has not moved his fortune to Brazil and thus saved a few million in taxes, he answers the following.

– I do it for the love of Norway and Vesterålen. I am basically in favor of the Norwegian tax system, but not of the wealth tax.(Terms)Copyright Dagens Næringsliv AS and / or our suppliers.
