Now there is enough snow to ski in various places in Oslo and the neighboring municipalities. But ski enthusiasts should be out this weekend. A more temperate climate is coming.

According to the Ski Association, Saturday is probably the best day if you want a ski trip.

After nearly two days of snowfall in the higher areas of Marka, there are now opportunities for skiing at various locations. Preferably where the surface is a forest road, the association writes on its website.

At a time when you should preferably not be crowded in stores due to the coronavirus, it can be good to know where you can go out and get away from close contact with other people.

A ski trip can be an alternative, even if it’s not exactly the weather that leads to “Christmas card motifs” in the Oslo area.

But according to yr.no, there is 17 cm of snow in Bjørnholt and 14 cm in Tryvannshøgda.

Here are groomed trails

And in the following places there is enough snow to pack and run trails:

  • Solli and Asker.
  • Vestmarksetra
  • Sørkedalen
  • Sollihøgda
  • Svartbekken
  • Humus
  • Brovoll
  • Side
  • Nannestad
  • lie
  • Raufoss

– Good conditions are reported, although in many places there is not enough snow to leave tracks. There have also been scooters and ATVs in Frogirseteråsen towards Nordmarkskapellet, Skjennungen and Ullevålseter, but we have no reports on the conditions there, writes the Ski Association.

Warmer weather is expected

At altitude, the temperature is around zero degrees. Therefore, the new rainfall that is expected in the afternoon / evening may appear in the form of snow. However, milder weather is forecast tomorrow and in the coming days.

This is the reason why the Ski Association believes that Saturday may be the best day to ski.

– Currently, the snow cover on the slopes is thin, so some rock and vegetation can adhere here and there. If you have several pairs of skis, it is always a good idea to choose what you fear least so early in the season, the association notes.

It can be added that the association suggests that purple lubrication will work best the day before the second advent.
