Kellyanne Conway breaks up with Trump

NEW YORK (Dagbladet): Conway was a high-profile face in the Trump administration until this fall when she left the White House as an adviser for family reasons. Before that, she was also Trump’s campaign manager during the 2016 election campaign. In an interview on Friday, however, she distances herself from Trump and says that Joe Biden is the apparent winner of the presidential election.

Trump himself still claims that his election was stolen through extensive electoral fraud. More than a month after the elections, he still has not provided any documentation on this serious charge.

– If you look at the total number of votes in the Electoral College, it looks like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will win. I hope the electorate certifies it and makes it official. We as a nation want to keep going, because that’s what we always do, says Conway in an interview with The 19th.

– Try all the possibilities

On Friday night local time, California also approved the results of the November 3 presidential election. It ensures that incoming President Joe Biden gets more than the 270 voters he needs. Thus, everything remains in place for him to become the next president of the United States on January 20.

Since the election, Trump’s lawyers, led by Rudy Giuliani, have sought to win lawsuits and allegations of voter fraud in several states for tip. Overall, the lawsuits have been roundly rejected by the judiciary, which believes Giuliani and company have not produced any credible evidence of their violent allegations.

– The president wants to try all his legal options, as he has clearly said many times. Your team does, and it’s your right, Conway says in the interview.

He also promises to work with future administrations.

– If there is something I can do to help, you can count on me, he says in the interview.

Peaceful transfer

He also emphasizes the importance of a peaceful transfer of power and notes how the General Services Administration (GSA) finally agreed to start the formal transfer process last week.

“We want the engines of the government apparatus to keep running,” says Conway.

His comments are noticeable because both Trump and many Trump allies have yet to acknowledge Biden’s election victory, The Hill writes.

The remarks also come after Trump’s Justice Minister William Barr granted an interview to the AP news agency this week. So far, he has been one of Trump’s most loyal allies, but in the interview he says that the Justice Ministry had found no evidence of extensive electoral fraud that could change the electoral result.
