The kidnapping case of millionaire and art dealer Reidar Osen and Petter Slengesol took a dramatic turn this week.
Initially, the trial was completed on November 17, but word arrived on Thursday that there was new evidence in the case.
Today, this evidence was presented to the court.
DNA expert Eirik Natås Hanssen had received responses to new analytical responses from DNA samples from the pants. Modern methods mean they could now get clearer answers.
– We have taken new samples from the knee to the pants that Osen was wearing, Hanssen said in court. He is a specialist engineer at the Oslo University Hospital.
The evidence shows that the brother of one of the defendants may be involved.
The person, a 37-year-old Pole, has previously been our target in the case. The police did not decide to prosecute him because the evidence was insufficient.
The police don’t know where this man is today.
– They show weak amounts of the DNA traces that we have on the skin.
The DNA material was analyzed in 2016. At that time, the conclusion was that the results were not possible to interpret.

Disputes over the case should be postponed
While police attorney Jørgen Henriksen believes that the case against the two men already charged in the case can continue as normal, assistant attorney Einar Drægebø believes that the entire case should now be put on hold.
– This man wants information that will put the whole case in a new light. Therefore, we request that the sentence be suspended until you have testified and become part of the presentation of evidence.
– This reinforces the assumption that we are up against organized crime, and the court cannot proceed without this being highlighted, Drægebø said in today’s round at the Bergen District Court.
The police lawyer says it is not yet clear whether the man will be charged, but the man is wanted internationally.
Judge Stein Dons Heinfjell noted that they would initially have a verdict ready by the end of next week. You will now consider whether to continue the presentation of evidence in the case.
