Start secured important points in the relegation battle when they played a draw against Bodø / Glimt

HOME – BODØ / GLIMT 1-1:

Series champion Bodø / Glimt suffered a rare loss of points as they faced a tight start at Sør Arena in Wednesday’s elite series deal.

Scores from Eirik Schulze and Kasper Junker ensured that both teams traveled home with one point each in the bag.

The Bodø / Glimt draw came after Ulrik Saltnes fell to the ground at full speed on his way through the home team’s 16 meters. It created reactions.

Huseklepp: – It seemed cheap

Erik Huseklepp of the TV 2 studio thought Glimt had some luck receiving the penalty that led to the draw, when replay showed that Saltnes’ contact with Starts Mohamed El Makrini was small.

– Based on the TV pictures, I thought it looked a bit cheap, Huseklepp said.

However, during the break talk in the Eurosport elite studio, former Start forward Bernt Hulsker was confident in his case that the referee did exactly the right thing when he pointed to the chalk mark.

– There is no doubt, was the clear message from Hulsker.

Makrini was not happy because the referee was not impressed and cautioned him to dive.

– Contact was minimal. I didn’t do it on purpose, but I turned around and then he fell. It was probably a very small contact, but clearly I think there was no penalty, he said as the teams went into halftime.

Start at the head: rapid reduction

Starting goalkeeper Jonas Deumeland was put on the match’s first try after eight minutes when Zinckernagel tried outside the penalty area. Glimt’s wing tried to screw the ball into the left center, but Deumeland was on the scoresheet.

In the 17th minute of the game, Christian Bolaños gave the hosts a 1 – 0 lead after an attack from the right, which landed at the feet of Schulze, who was completely unmarked inside the area.

Not long after, however, the traders had a chance to cut the penalty, after Ulrik Saltnes was fouled along the way. Junker was right and tied for the guests.

However, seven minutes before the break, El Makrini had a golden opportunity to send Start back to the front, but his header from a corner kick crashed off the crossbar.

In the second half, both Start and Bodø / Glimt came close to scoring, but neither team managed to score the decisive goal.

The home team still called for a penalty just before the end when Kasper Skaanes was put on the ground, but this time referee Mohammad Usman decided not to target the penalty spot.

Thus, it ended with shared points at Sør Arena.
