Trump said to have opened up to forgive the children and Giuliani – NRK Urix – Foreign News & Documentaries

It becomes a bonanza of forgiveness in the United States.

An 18-page court document will show that large political donations have been offered in exchange for President Donald Trump’s pardon.

The document has been leaked and it is not clear who is being investigated or to whom the pardon was intended.

But the document reveals that people are suspected of covert lobbying against White House officials to secure clemency or reduced sentences. Large sums of political support have been offered in exchange for a pardon.

According to the New York Times, there is nothing that directly links Trump to the pardons. He calls it all “fake news” himself.

Pardons are not uncommon towards the end of the presidential term.

Last week, Trump pardoned his former security adviser Michael Flynn. In 2017, he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contact with Russia in the weeks leading up to Trump’s inauguration.

Forgive the children

Today, the New York Times also writes that Trump has conveyed with his advisers the opportunity to forgive the children, his son-in-law and his personal attorney Rudolph W. Giuliani.

According to the newspaper, Trump is concerned that incoming President Joe Biden’s administration is suing Trump’s three oldest children, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump. As well as son-in-law and counselor Jared Kushner.

Donald Trump Jr. has been investigated by letter investigator Robert Mueller for contracts he is said to have signed with Russians. They are said to have offered information that could harm Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election campaign. Trump Jr. was never charged.

Kushner gave false information to federal authorities about his contact with foreign actors when he was to be acquitted. However, Kushner received a security clearance from the president.

The background to Trump’s desire to pardon Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump in advance is unclear.

Giuliani’s possible charge

The New York Times wrote yesterday that Trump’s attorney, Rudolph Giuliani, has already discussed a pardon with Trump.

Possibly a pardon that precedes a charge. It is not known whether Trump’s lawyer can be investigated and charged, but Giuliani has previously been investigated for his activities in Ukraine and the role he played when the US ambassador to Ukraine was fired.

More in the queue of forgiveness

According to US media, there is a small line of people who have been involved in the Mueller investigation who can now be pardoned by the president.

CNN previously reported that former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and adviser George Papadopoulos are awaiting clemency.

Manafort was sentenced to several years in prison for a financial crime, but is now serving time at home due to the corona pandemic. Papadopoulos received a shorter sentence for lying to the FBI.

Allen Weisselberg is also considered pardoned, according to CNN. He was for years the chief financial officer of the Trump organization and knows all the financial secrets and tax matters of the family.

Weisselberg received protection from prosecution when Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, was arrested.

Additionally, the father of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, real estate businessman Charles Kushner who was convicted of tax fraud and illegal campaign finance, will be on the list of current clemency candidates.
