Some little things left

There are many signs that he is heading toward an agreement on next year’s state budget. The FRP leader used the term “a few small things” about what was left.

After a two-hour meeting, FRP leader Siv Jensen and the party’s fiscal policy spokesman, Sylvi Listhaug, left the prime minister’s office on Monday. It happened a little after 9:00 p.m.

Once again, he was able to report on the progress in the negotiations with the other three ruling parties.

– I think we have had a very good progression. Now there are some small things left that we have to work on a bit. But good progression, Jensen said after tonight’s meeting.

Deadline Thursday morning

Negotiations are long overdue due to overtime. The last deadline for obtaining a written agreement on the financial recommendation at the Storting was Friday.

Now the four party leaders must agree before the financial debate. It will take place on Thursday. In order to vote on what they can agree to, an agreement must be ready no later than 0800 that day.

Tonight’s statements from the FRP leader may indicate that they are getting closer to a deal. After the fiscal politicians did not agree, the negotiations rose to the level of the party leaders.

It happened last Saturday.

Cross-border trade and pensions

Since then, Jensen has negotiated with Prime Minister and Conservative leader Erna Solberg, KrF leader Kjell Ingolf Ropstad and Liberal leader Guri Melby. On occasion, fiscal politicians have gotten involved.

Disagreement on everything from refugee quotas, cross-border trade, aid cuts, investments in roads and pensions has led to delays in negotiations.
