The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow warning for much of eastern Norway. Very slippery roads are expected in Oslo, Viken and Innlandet as a result of freezing rain.

Meteorologists have clear advice for motorists.

According to the meteorologist, this is the first warning of the subzero rainy season in southern Norway. Subcooled rain is raindrops that freeze on contact with the environment.

– North of Oslo increases the chance of freezing rain, and the extent depends on how fast the temperature rises, where the temperature is above zero. The division appears to be roughly in Drøbak, Terje Alsvik Walløe, meteorologist on duty at the Meteorological Institute, tells Dagbladet.

Rear collision

Every year freezing rain creates great traffic difficulties. Ice can be very difficult for motorists and pedestrians to see.

On Monday morning on E16 near Gardermoen, there was an accident involving a total of three cars. According to the police, there was talk of a rear-end collision.
