Four minutes into the match between Arsenal and Wolverhampton, a serious incident occurred.

The two players collided when Arsenal took a corner kick. Jiménez soared into the air to finish off Willian’s corner kick, and behind him came David Luiz at full speed. The Brazilian collided with Jiménez and both players stayed on the ground.

The Arsenal player was bleeding from his head, but eventually recovered.

Jiménez, who was apparently unconscious on the ground, was the one who suffered the most as more and more of the health personnel gathered around him.

Finally, they placed the Mexican on a stretcher and pulled him out of the sand. Photographs of the forward showed that he apparently received oxygen and was wearing a neck brace.

– It is rare that you have seen such force in a collision. We’re used to people hitting their heads, but this was hugely powerful, says TV 2 soccer expert Erik Thorstvedt during the break.

The Premier League informs TV 2 that the Wolves forward was taken directly to hospital.

Wolverhampton writes on Twitter that they will return with more information when they have it.

The game resumed nine minutes after the incident. David Luiz continued the fight bandaged.

– That David Luiz kept playing, he was very skeptical. But they probably know what they are doing. The most important thing now is that Jiménez recovers, says Thorstvedt.
