At a single-family home in Straume in Øygarden, some of the party participants ran and hid when two police patrols arrived on Saturday night. It finally turned out that there were ten people present at the party that the police ended.

Home alone party

– A man in his 20s organized a party at home alone. When people hide from the police, they obviously know this is a violation of infection control rules, says operations manager Tatjana Knappen.

Police were notified at 10:45 pm on Saturday that there were many young people gathered and noise. The youngest of the party was 18 years old, most were 20 years old.

– All participants have been photographed and interrogated. It needs to be carefully documented so there’s no question later on whether someone was at the party or not, says Knappen.

Party in apartment

At 11.30pm on Saturday night, two police patrols also went out to a party at an apartment in Loddefjord. There were nine people present.

The man who organized the party is in his early 20s. One of the participants is 30 years old, most are 20 years old.

– Many people and smoke

– Here the participants were a little older. They told us there were a lot of people and loud music. A smoking machine was also used, so smoke came out of the apartment. But we knew there was no fire, says Knappen.

When the police moved into an apartment in Sandviken where there was a party two weeks ago, the party participants had to pay a total of NOK 70,000 in fines for violating local regulations on infection control measures.

The party organizer was fined 10,000 kronor, while those at the party had to pay 5,000 kroner each.

Operations manager Knappen tells BT that it is the investigator and attorney who will decide who will receive the fines after the holidays this weekend.

From 10:30 p.m. Saturday night to Sunday morning, the West Police District received 21 reports of parties and loud music. Most of this was in Bergen.

– We don’t have the ability to move at all. The main emphasis is on 20-year-olds, Knappen says.

– Too

– What do you think about this?

– It is a pity that someone cannot follow the regulations on infection control measures. It affects the general population. If we don’t get rid of the infection, we can’t celebrate Christmas the way we want. We hope that people will follow the advice of the authorities, says the police operations manager.
