Actor Nils Sletta has passed away at the age of 77. Informs Telemarksavisa.

He died last night, reports his son Torbjørn Sletta Jacobsen in a Facebook post on Thursday.

“Our dear father couldn’t take it anymore and fell asleep last night. He wasn’t afraid of what was going to happen, he told me one of the last days. It was a good consolation. Tov, Ragnhild and I were with him at the last moment, as he wanted and how we wanted, ”the son writes in the post.

“Thank you, Dad, for many good times. Thank you for being the Goffa of your grandchildren, thank you for your calm and warm humor. Thank you for the music you gave us and the roles you showed us. A true musician”, it is further said .

Many roles

Nils Sletta was born on April 23, 1943 in Tuddal in Hjartdal, and has been a renowned actor and musician for many years. He made his acting debut at the National Theater in 1965 and has also performed at the Trøndelag Theater.

He became a permanent employee at Det Norske Teatret in 1969.

Sletta will be remembered for his many roles on the stage, and has been seen in such plays as Peer Gynt, Vestavind, and Tusen fjordar, tusen fjell. He has also participated in the Marispelet in Rjukan.

Sletta also received the critics award for his role as Mattis in The Birds in 1997.

He has also been watching television and played pig farmer Tor Neshov in “Berlinerpoplene” on NRK, which is based on Anne B. Ragde’s popular series of novels about the Neshov family in Trøndelag.

Sletta won the Golden Route for best male actor for his role in 2008.

Nils Sletta also played the violin hard throughout his life.
