This is how the 31-year-old began his explanation in Moss District Court on Wednesday morning.

– Argued with neighbors
In court, the man sits quietly in the witness chair and speaks in a controlled voice. He works chronologically when describing his relationship with the woman.
He talks about a relationship that he has long perceived as good, despite an age difference of more than 20 years. But the relationship eventually turned turbulent as well, and the age difference became a problem.
Eventually, according to the man, problems also arose between him and the woman’s neighbors.
– He had set up a stage and discussed openly with one of the neighbors. They sent me home and after that she wanted me to be more invisible, she explained.
In the time that followed, he often came through the basement door or porch entrance on his way home.
Drowned after the meeting
In the weeks leading up to the murder, the man served a three-week sentence for driving under the influence with an ankle brace. During this period, the two did not meet. When they met, they hadn’t seen each other in about a month.
– It seemed like a good reunion. We drank wine and watched television, he says.
He says they both went to work the next day and therefore went to bed relatively early. Only then did a disagreement arise.
The man describes feeling rejected and frustrated. According to his explanation, he ended up suffocating her.
In the time that followed, what happened is that he is also accused of desecration.
Overnight, the man describes that he almost acted on automatic pilot. He also drank more alcohol.
– I was in a state of shock and panic. Somehow he was not present. What happens if a relative or neighbor knocks on the door? I don’t know how to put it in words. He was very scared, he says.
Was found dead
However, it would be a while before they found the woman. Because when the man aired the apartment and by his own explanation grilled chicken early in the morning, it had become Tuesday, November 26.
He stayed in the apartment all day. Describe that you ate several meals and that you drank more alcohol.
– I was in a state without plans and intentions with nothing. I kept going through the apartment. Cooked again. Airy with all windows and doors open. I ripped scratch cards and listened to music on the radio, he explains.
Only at 4-5 o’clock on the night of November 27, did he remove the deceased from the car. At the same time, he brought several more objects to the car, before re-entering the apartment.
Colleagues notified
That day, however, the woman’s companions were also concerned. The man explains that two of his colleagues knocked on the kitchen window. He introduced himself as her boyfriend and lied saying he had no idea where he was.
However, colleagues had also alerted the police. The woman had not shown up for work two days in a row and did not answer the phone when they called.
Later that day, the police also appeared at the apartment.
– I sat on the couch with the TV on and all the blinds down. Then suddenly I heard someone say “Hello, is there anyone here?” from the hall. Then the police had come in, he says.
The 31-year-old defendant was arrested and already that night he admitted in questioning with the police that he had killed the woman.
According to the indictment, she died of suffocation. The man is also charged with desecration. In court on Wednesday, the prosecutor began by saying that the question of whether the 31-year-old killed his girlfriend on purpose, whether the coronation can be proven, as well as the question of sanity, will be central in court.
For the past year, experts have evaluated the man and concluded that he was criminally sane.
