The cases of infection continue: – They are very serious

Last week, a gamer was confirmed to be infected with covid-19. The second positive test arrived on Monday. On Tuesday, up to twelve new players were informed that they were infected. Now all samples have been analyzed and finished.

– Now it’s starting to get heavy. “I have just received confirmation of six new cases, and several of them have had no symptoms,” the medical officer in Sparta, Ørjan Kittilsen, told TV 2 when the number was eight in total.

We spoke to him again when the number had increased to 14:

– I would characterize what we are doing now as very serious. We know that it spreads quickly, but it is extremely fast. We expected more infected, but 14 we had not thought about it, says Kittilsen.

He is concerned about the aftermath of the disease in infected players, as the disease affects very differently.

The players have been isolated since Friday. Sparta is basically in quarantine until Monday and has postponed three games. It also features Manglerud Star, who played Sparta on Thursday.

– I hope that everyone returns to training and can play, but we have no assurance that it will happen. We should do that assessment when the quarantine is over.

Sparta’s next game is Lillehammer on Thursday, December 3. The club initially wants to play that match, but does not dare to say with certainty that it will happen.
