– It is good to come from the city that brings the first gold to northern Norway. I feel a little more proud because it is so great that everyone in Norway treats it, says Jahn Ivar “Mini” Jakobsen to NRK.
– Perhaps only the toughest supporters in Tromsø will not.
But the season is not over. Five more games will be played, and Jakobsen is already looking forward to the next one:
– Imagine, as we are doing in Norway, the next opponent will be the guard of honor of the league champions. And in Aspmyra, Rosenborg will be Glimt’s honor guard. It is absolutely wonderful as it was.
– It will be good to sleep and cry tonight
Like Jakobsen, Ørjan Berg, Patrick Berg’s father, believes that this gold is of greater importance than just Bodø.
– I think so. Great sports achievements have it. That gold here is all of northern Norway. Half the team is from here and has played soccer in northern Norway growing up, says Berg.
But some of the ones that matter most to them were at Marienlyst in Drammen on Sunday night. The gold celebration took off on the field after the end of the match and the players wore gold hats and scarves. And emotions surfaced.
– I don’t really know what to say. I’m probably a bad interview subject right now. I’m a little empty right now. It will be good to sleep tonight and cry a little in peace, Ulrik Saltnes tells NRK.
Supported made from the car
Because the year is 2020 and the crown pandemic slows down the royal celebration. Bodø / Glimt will not be able to celebrate league gold with fans and matches like other years. They also did not play for a packed stadium.
Also, national team players Patrick Berg and Marius Lode had to remain standing during the match after they tested positive for the coronavirus.
However, that didn’t stop Glimt fans from supporting the club. Outside of Marienlyst, there were several cars with followers dressed in yellow and black inside.
– If Zinckernagel gets the ball into a corner, we see it exactly, said one of the fans before the game.
The attending fans were paid for alternate assistance. Bodø / Glimt became the first northern Norwegian team to win league gold.
