– I thought this was not so smart – NRK Norway – Summary of news from different parts of the country

Another 11 people, a total of 45, have been diagnosed with corona infection at the Oslo Music Theater Academy, the school confirmed to NRK on Sunday.

The 45 who have now been diagnosed with coronary heart disease were present for two functions held last week. There were students of all levels, as well as teachers.

Yesterday, NRK reported that more than 30 students had been diagnosed with an infection at the school, which is part of the pirate-owned Kristiania University College.

A total of 45 people have been quarantined in connection with the outbreak.

He had a performance with 54 in the room.

One of the infection control measures at the school with around 90 students has been to separate the steps from each other. The grade levels, among other things, had lunch separately.

But last week, the school invited students to be audience members in two performances shortly after the other. A total of 56 and 54 people were present at each performance.

University management tells NRK that all participants received antibac upon arrival and that all audience members had to wear bandages, but that the performing artists did not wear bandages.

During the first performance, 27 third-grade stage actors participated, as well as 20 students from the first stage of the school and six educators. The second screening was for 20 2nd grade students, plus nine educators, in addition to the 27 stage actors.

– I thought this is not so good

According to students NRK has spoken with who were at the performance, no one on stage wore a face mask and several students mingled with the performers when the performance ended.

– I felt like I was safe at the time, but after we finished I thought this wasn’t so smart. I thought it would have consequences, a student tells NRK.

The audience sat one meter away from the performing artists.

– It is always better with performances where there is an audience, because it is the most beautiful, but I thought that this might not be so good, says another student who was in the performance last Friday.

– More than justifiable

The general advice in Norway is to stay at least 1 meter away from others. But the advice of the authorities sometimes allows to waive the requirement of a distance of 1 meter. This applies, among other things, to artistic representations. It is section 13 of the covid-19 regulations that allows this.

– There was more in the audience than was reasonable. I think he could have handled it better and been more thoughtful. Management probably thought about the FHI rules, managed to mix it up a bit, and thought this was going well, says one student.

– Now we see what happened. We cannot rule out that the infection occurred there, says the student.

An important part of performing arts education in the performing arts has to do with communication between the stage and the room, says Stein-Oddvar Evensen, director of marketing and communications at Kristiania University College.

– With various infection control measures, it was deemed correct and to have someone present, and we followed the guidelines for infection control in that everyone received antibac upon arrival, wore face masks, and sat one meter apart in the hallway, so this was enough, Evensen says.

The students that NRK has spoken to think that it is not okay to drive with the audience, what is your comment on this?

– The decision to have someone present was made on the basis that we could comply with the infection control rules. Students now, first and foremost, need attention and understanding. Our job is to provide students with a good academic offer during the quarantine period.
