Romerikes Blad – «Shall we dance» won: – Now I will give priority to family

(Nettavisen): After 101 days of dancing, 12 broadcasts and a stressful finale with three dancers, it was finally Andreas Wahl and his dance partner Mai Mentzoni from Fetsund who took the win at “Skal vi danse” 2020.

– All that we have experienced, all that we have let go and left for this to happen. Everything we’ve talked about, everything we’ve worked on is what’s going through my head now, Wahl tells Nettavisen.

From the beginning Andreas Wahl has been a huge favorite with the spectators, something that he proved once again on Saturday night.

Judging by the judges’ score, it was Nate Kahungu who thought he had become the best dancer during this year’s “Skal vi danse”, and gave him the highest score in the final. Viewers, however, wanted to say something completely different and simply voted the favorite Wahl at the top.

– The judges are more professional than those at home. I think Nate and Helene have been completely naked. No doubt tonight with only ten of the judges. I’m absolutely sure we’ll see more of the two, Wahl tells Nettavisen, adding that it’s a good feeling that those at home voted despite it.

Delighted to come home

Although Wahl has repeatedly expressed great joy at participating in “Skal vi danse”, something also the roar that is described in the final, the joy that it is all over is also great.

For TV 2 earlier this week, Wahl was able to admit that it has been difficult at home through the participation of “Shall we dance.” You could also tell Nettavisen that your partner has had the dance competition quite “down the throat” since he’s been away so long.

– It will be good to spend time with the family again. I’ve hardly seen them since “Skal vi danse” started, she told Nettavisen, adding that she wouldn’t be dancing for a while.

On Saturday night, he also greeted the family and emphasized several times that he was looking forward to going home to them.

– I’ve been away a lot. I have prioritized dancing and am now very prepared to prioritize being home, he tells Nettavisen.

Lost twice

Few of the “Skal vi danse” participants can leave the competition to say that they have lived it all. Even breaking twice.

Earlier this season, Nate Kahungu and Helene Spilling were eliminated from the competition in a duel against Michael Andreassen. Due to voice problems on the channel, they had another chance, which has proven to mean everything to the couple.

With that, criticism has also been leveled against the dance couple in recent weeks, where several have believed that Kahungu is not a full-fledged finalist after resigning. However, that didn’t allow Kahungu and Spilling to go beyond the motivation and joy of dancing.

– I felt it a bit when we got back in, if it was okay, and what the other competitors really thought about it. But then I think Nate deserved that opportunity, and when you look at what we’ve delivered afterward, it just shows that it was okay that we were able to get back in, Spilling told Nettavisen earlier this week.

Received support from the competitor.

Final competitor Andreas Wahl also came out earlier this week to support Nate Kahungu. In an interview with Nettavisen, Wahl believes the criticism is based on conspiracy theories.

– In all the situations where many worry, you are very open to conspiracy theories. And many people worry about “Shall we dance?” It has been a lot like that, that someone is favored, that the judges have favorites, all that. You really want to find a different connection than the one that actually exists. And this is one of those theories, Wahl told Nettavisen.

Before the final, both finalists were very excited before the final.

– I am very nervous, but I feel that now we have done what we can do. So now we can only hope for the best, Kahungu told Nettavisen before the big final broadcast begins.

Wahl, for his part, said his nerves were under control.

– I really want to dance like it’s the last thing I do, I also hope it’s good enough, he told Nettavisen.
