At 22 o’clock on Wednesday, the showers over Bergen have begun to subside after flooding several basements in downtown Bergen.
The storm occurred as a result of a tropical storm that moved east after having previously visited the United States.
Meteorologists predicted up to 90 millimeters of rain in advance and asked people not to take chances.
At 9:30 p.m., 77.6 millimeters of precipitation had already been measured at the Meteorological Institute’s measuring station near Florida in Bergen.

Northern storm
On Thursday, western Norway will be affected by a new storm, this time the northern one.
– You are likely to see white showers in central Bergen, says Meteorological Institute meteorologist Lars Andreas Selberg.
Explain that the cold air from the north will cause a drop in temperatures.
At the same time, the wind will blow strongly. Selberg predicts that gusts can reach 37 meters per hour. second.
Closed roads
There were several who had problems with the precipitation on Wednesday. Several roads had to be closed due to flooding or the risk of landslides. E16 was closed for several hours due to a landslide and the water cascaded past E39.
The large amount of water also meant that the fire department had more than enough to do. They set out on 19 water-related missions overnight.
– Most of the time it has been in flooded basements, parking lots or rivers, says service commander Ronald Drotningsvik at interchange 110.
Fear accidents instead of floods
He says assignments came in steadily between 6 and 9 o’clock, but that it began to calm down at 10 o’clock.
Drotningsvik encourages everyone who hits the road to have the right tires.
– If not, there will probably be so many assignments tomorrow as well, only there will be traffic accidents instead of floods, he says.
No outdoor weather
Police have the same request as Drotningsvik and ask drivers to be on the lookout for snow and strong gusts of wind, especially if they don’t have winter tires.
