– Our fear grows stronger

It is described as the most investigated crime scene in Norway, the dark brown house in Fjellhamar. The Hagen couple’s single-family home has been perfected month after month, until billionaire Tom Hagen himself was allowed to return home in late September. Since then, it has been quietly by the house at the end of Sloraveien.

As Dagbladet has previously mentioned, the police are slowly but surely working to gather enough evidence for an indictment against Tom Hagen. An accusation that the 70-year-old and his defender believe is far from becoming a reality.

On May 8, the day of his own release, the billionaire was released. By then, ten days had passed behind the walls. A time that has described loved ones as stressful due to the isolation in which he found himself.

Now, six months later, Hagen and his defender, lawyer Svein Holden, write the following to Dagbladet in an email:

– Police thoughts on a possible motive were unsuccessful in the Eidsivating Court of Appeal, contributing to Tom Hagen being released. In our opinion, the police case is even weaker today than it was then.

The fear is amplified

The family has not given up hope for an answer to what happened to his wife, mother and grandmother. It has been more than two years since Anne-Elisabeth, 68, disappeared from her home.

One of the longest police investigations in Norway was launched. 749 days later, dozens of people are still working full time to solve the mystery. Still, no one has been able to answer the bigger questions: what happened to the billionaire’s wife and who is behind it.

Attorney Holden describes a painful and difficult situation for the family who are left without an answer and with a murder charge looming over them.

– Anne-Elisabeth Hagen has been missing for two years. It hurts his family not to know what happened to him. For Tom Hagen, it has been incredibly demanding to be charged with the crime, and our fear that the police will not find Anne-Elisabeth and the perpetrators is growing stronger, Holden writes in the email to Dagbladet.

I will not comment

In late October, police released new information about how they have worked to solve what they believe to be a murder case. Then it turned out that they had mapped 122 locations in the search for Anne-Elisabeth Hagen. None of these have given any answers.

However, the lack of findings has not dampened the police’s hopes of getting to the bottom of the case. Despite the extensive use of resources to find the missing person, the police do not believe that she is a crucial piece in the event that they find her.

– We believe that it is possible for someone to be convicted in this case without finding a body, and we do not depend on finding Anne-Elisabeth to get it, but it is clear that it is much more difficult, said Police Inspector Agnes Beate Hemiø. until the end of October.

Dagbladet has asked the police if they have any comments on the statements of lawyer Holden, who consider that the case against Tom Hagen is weakened and that the family’s fear of the lack of clarification is growing stronger.

– The police have no comment on the questions, says police inspector Hemiø.
