MARMORHALLEN, OSLO (Nettavisen): – The virus continues to grow, the Minister of Justice and Emergency Management Monica Mæland opens the press conference on Wednesday with.
She says that in the last week, more than 500 people have been turned away at the country’s borders.
– Sometimes it can seem strict and disproportionate, but it is necessary, says Mæland.
Then comes the Minister of Justice and Emergency Preparedness with an invitation to the Christmas preparations.
– I want to encourage everyone to do their Christmas shopping in such a way that you do not expose yourself or others to an unnecessary risk of contagion. Start shopping for Christmas gifts early. If you go to a mall or a store, it’s important that you do it in a way and at a time that means you meet as few people as possible, he says.

R number decreases
Wednesday’s new coronation figures show 30,113 cases of infection so far and 299 deaths related to coronary heart disease.
On Wednesday, there are 143 corona patients in Norwegian hospitals, 15 of whom are receiving intensive respiratory treatment. The cumulative figures show that 1505 Norwegian crown patients have been hospitalized so far, 297 in the intensive care unit.
Weekly FHI figures for covid-19 cases reported after the sampling date show the highest infection figures so far in the pandemic in the weeks behind us with week 45 as a preliminary peak of 4,045 new cases of infection. In week 46, the number of new cases decreased a bit and currently shows 3911. At the same time, many more are being tested now than during the first peak. So far, 2,075,585 corona tests have been performed.
– Infection rates in the last week are on par with the previous week. The curve has not risen as steeply as in previous weeks. This may be an indication that the measures that have been implemented have taken effect. But it is too early to conclude on this, Høie said at the government press conference on the situation of the crown on Wednesday, says Health and Care Services Minister Bent Høie on the development of the infection.
He says the infection continues to increase in Oslo, but not as much as it has. The R number has fallen from 1.4 to 1.2 in November, according to FHI. This means that the infected people infect an average of 1.2 people.
The R number is a mathematical estimate of how many people are still infected with a corona infection. For the infection rate to decrease, the R number must be below 1.
– Insufficient
– There are indications that the number of newly infected people who have registered has stabilized. The increase is not as strong as before, said FHI Director Camilla Stoltenberg at the corona news conference on Wednesday.
It reported about 4,000 new cases of infection at weeks 46 and 45.
– The situation is unstable and we have seen, for example, in Denmark, that they had a drop in infection cases before they increased again, says Stoltenberg
The figures show a significant spread of the infection in recent weeks. The pressure of the infection continues to be high with great local variations, emphasized the health director.
– It’s a reduction, but not enough, Stoltenberg emphasizes about the new R numbers.

– Important to recognize
Høie also says a campaign will be worked on how to have social contact without and meet physically. It should help against loneliness and dark thoughts.
– It is important to recognize that it is difficult to live in a pandemic, says health director Guldvog, says health director Bjørn Guldvog.
– Now is the time to move to another dimension of our pandemic; call someone, chat, ask, or get in touch with someone you think you need to chat with. It may be about the weather or the dog, but the most important thing is that we talk to each other and take care of ourselves, he adds.
