The municipality writes this on its website. It is the municipal chief doctor Stefan Løvsletten who is infected.
– The foliar plain has very mild symptoms. The patient turned out to be in close contact with an infected person, was quarantined and examined, he says.
The municipality further claims that it was through infection tracking that the contact between the municipal chief and the patient was revealed.
The municipal supervisor took the test on Saturday and received a positive result on Monday.
Participated in tracking infections
The municipality reports that contagion has been monitored over the weekend, and that the municipal chief participated.
This means that much of the infection tracking team has been quarantined.
They continue work from home.
– Again, this shows how contagious the coronavirus is. We encourage everyone to limit the number of close contacts, they say.
NRK has been in contact with the infected doctor. He doesn’t want to be interviewed now.
– Demanding
Nordre Land Mayor Ola Tore Dokken says it is a demanding situation for the municipality.
The dock claims that Løvsletten is isolated, but manages his duties as a municipal chief doctor from home.
The mayor says that, like Løvsletten, many of those who have been diagnosed with an infection in the municipality have weak symptoms.
– This way we detect the infection through tracking work, not making people feel sick, he says.
School on the red level
Torpa’s doctor’s office has been quarantined and is closed until Monday, November 23.
There are now a total of 40 positive tests in Nordre Land. More than 200 people are in quarantine.
Vest Torpa Elementary and Lower Secondary School is raised to the red tier starting today. Dokka Upper Secondary School has also raised the level to red.
– There has been a boom in schools, which have now been closed. Now we see a boom among older residents, says Dokken.
He says they can’t say they are in full control, but the vast majority of those diagnosed with infection are already in quarantine.
