Paid Party at Oslo School – Hosted for a 5-hour Paid BBQ

Following Dagbladet’s numerous revelations about the Oslo school, the supporting party Rødt announced its own hearing last week against school counselor Inga Marte Thorkildsen (SV).

Dagbladet receives confirmation today that the hearing will take place on January 12, 2021. The deadline is a full five hours.

– When politicians worry too much about “controlling the message”, it becomes a disaster. This is an example of horror. Now we are left with more questions than answers, and we called an audience to get the right answers, Evenrud told Dagbladet last week.

A hearing announcement last week came as a direct consequence of Dagbladet being able to reveal the text messages that were sent between Thorkildsen and education director Marte Gerhardsen as the pressure mounted.

The two of them are written directly that they fear a hit, Dagbladet could tell. Critics believe the text messages show that both Thorkildsen and Gerhardsen are more concerned about how they appear at the meeting with the paid party at the Oslo school.

– Of course, we will ask at the hearing and answer all the questions that the city council politicians may have in this case, says Inga Marte Thorkildsen to Dagbladet.

The pay party

While teachers at the Oslo school have been asked to show restraint in the crisis year 2020, many of the principals at the Oslo school have received large salary increases. Teachers have been offered a 1.7 percent pay raise; some directors received more than 10 percent, and that was outside the ordinary salary settlement.

– Councilor Thorkildsen has created a lot of uncertainty about the management conditions in his own agency. It has done so through various initiatives in the media. Now we need clarity on the case and therefore we have also reserved five hours for the hearing, says Bjørn Revil (FNB) to Dagbladet.

He confirms that education director Marte Gerhardsen will also be summoned for the hearing.

– It seems that good management is now lacking in the agency. Many teachers have difficult working conditions and, especially because of them, it is important that we now address this issue, Revil continues.

In addition to a director-level pay party, Dagbladet has also documented millions spent on consultants, headhunters, and American leadership training. The opposition in Oslo, as well as several in the Storting, have reacted strongly to the use of money in the Oslo school run by SV and Thorkildsen.
