Ivanka Trump og Jared Kushner: –

When her father took office as the country’s 45th president in January 2017, Ivanka Trump brought her husband, Jared Kushner, and their three children to the capital, Washington DC.

Both have held prominent positions in the Donald Trump administration, as advisers to the president’s inner circle.

At the same time, the couple’s three children have attended an exclusive private Jewish school in Washington.

Now the couple has decided to transfer the children to a new school. The reason, various media outlets claim, is that they do not follow the school’s infection control regulations.

It was the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that first announced that the couple had decided to change schools for children Arbelle, Joseph, and Theodore. According to the news agency, the decision must have been made two weeks before the presidential elections.

A spokesperson for the school, Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School, said in an official statement Wednesday that it was the couple who chose to transfer the children.

However, three parents from the school have anonymously stated to the news agency that the reason is that the Trump / Kushner couple refused to follow the school’s infection control rules.

In the next week, the school will start with a regular boarding school after having had a combination of distance learning and partially outdoor teaching in smaller groups for a long time.

On that occasion, the school has asked families to avoid meetings in which distance rules are not respected and inferior bandages are not used, also in their free time. This is to avoid getting infected at school.

The rules will be based on advice from the national infection control agency, the news agency writes.

– Major concern

The rule is said to have gone into effect in late September, at a time when many members of the Trump administration were infected after an event at the White House.

The increase in infection in the city was considered concerning, and this was one of several events in which it became clear that infection control regulations were not being met.

Although Jared and Ivanka were not present that day, the nomination ceremony for Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett at the White House in Rosehagen at the White House is said to have caused great concern at the school, as at least twelve invited guests were infected in the event.

Among them was the president himself.

During the first presidential debate on September 29, the Trump family, including Ivanka and Jared Kushner, were also photographed blindfolded in the hallway.

– Then a concern for the safety of the children arose, as it was very clear that the Kushner family did not comply with the public infection control councils, a parent tells the news agency.

According to CNN, many other parents at the school have raised concerns about the Kushner family’s loose relationship with infection control regulations, and it was also noted that they were never quarantined.

This despite the fact that both the president himself, his wife Melania and their common son, Barron Trump, were diagnosed with the virus.

Other parents tell CNN that the school chose to point out the Kushner couple’s infection control rules regardless of comments from other parents.

Uncertain future

White House spokeswoman Carolina Hurley neither confirms nor denies that infection control rules are the reason for the couple’s decision.

“For anonymous sources to attack a family’s decision about what is best for their children in the midst of a pandemic is shameful,” he told CNN, adding that the family does not owe anyone an explanation for the decisions they make about the education of their children.

CNN emphasizes that none of the anonymous sources have attacked the parents in their statements.

Although Trump himself has long been opposed to wearing a mask and was also a major driving force behind the reopening of states despite the pandemic, Ivanka has been among those calling for the use of masks.

It is not known what the couple will do after January 20, when Biden is officially installed as president. According to The Guardian, Ivanka is likely to return to the Trump Organization, leaving the capital in favor of her hometown of New York.

Before then, however, a significant detail is missing, namely that Trump acknowledges the electoral defeat.
