– Now I think we have gone one step further. Hope we can get it over the weekend. This means that we have received concessions which means that the compensation scheme is significantly strengthened. We will also launch good things for aviation. But something remains, says Sylvi Listhaug, FRP deputy leader.
At the same time, he emphasizes that “nothing is clear until everything is clear.”
FRP demands, among other things, increased support for companies in difficulty. They also demand that the reduced VAT regime continue and that the tax on air passengers be eliminated.
Both Listhaug and the other politicians negotiating the crisis package seemed cheerful and optimistic when they met with the press after another meeting on Friday night.
– Good mood that does not need to negotiate. That can be had forever, explained the conservative Mudassar Kapur, who is leading the negotiations for the government parties.
But he also seemed genuinely pleased with the progress.
– There have been constructive conversations. It’s really just a matter of working and finding good solutions ASAP, he says.
Listhaug is also concerned that an agreement on the crisis package must be reached quickly, so that struggling companies don’t have to wait unnecessarily for clarification.
– I know there are many who are impatient, he tells NTB.
The talks will continue through the weekend, with the parties hoping to finish each one overnight on Sunday. After a possible agreement on a crisis package, they will continue negotiating on the rest of the state budget for next year.
