Several British media are reporting that Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s adviser Dominic Cummings has resigned.

Sky News writes that Cummings has left 10 Downing Street for the last time. The BBC also writes that Cummings drops “number 10” with immediate effect.

According to the television channel, he spoke with the prime minister earlier in the day on Friday, and it was decided that it was best for him to resign from his post immediately after several days of unrest.

On Thursday, Downing Street is said to have declared that Cummings would step down before Christmas, following disagreements over how the prime minister’s office should be run and the appointment of a new chief of staff. But Cummings’ departure is said to have come earlier than expected due to dissatisfaction with the team and a difficult week, according to the BBC.

The information has not been officially confirmed.

There was a lot of commotion surrounding Cummings when he was accused of violating the country’s crown rules in March.

Dagbladet is following the case.
